Fall Pear Salad with Walnuts & Goat Cheese

A simple, elegant salad that celebrates the sweetness of ripe Bartlett pears, balanced by creamy goat cheese, crunchy walnuts, and a light vinaigrette. It’s the taste of fall in every bite.

🌱 From the Field

Our Bartlett pears are at their peak — golden, juicy, and fragrant. Grown with care and ripened on the tree, they bring natural sweetness and a soft, buttery texture that pairs beautifully with crisp greens and earthy nuts.

🧺 Ingredients (serves 2–3)

  • 2 ripe Bartlett pears, sliced

  • 4 cups Wild Flight spring mix or arugula

  • ¼ cup crumbled goat cheese

  • ¼ cup toasted walnuts or pecans

  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

For the vinaigrette:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • ½ teaspoon honey

  • Salt and pepper to taste

🔥 Instructions

  1. Prepare the dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, vinegar, mustard, honey, salt, and pepper.

  2. Assemble the salad: In a large bowl, combine greens, sliced pears, nuts, and goat cheese.

  3. Dress & toss: Drizzle with vinaigrette and toss gently to coat.

  4. Serve immediately: For extra flavor, drizzle with a touch of honey or sprinkle with additional nuts before serving.

🌾 Farmer’s Tip:

If your pears are slightly firm, leave them at room temperature for a day or two — they’ll soften and develop that signature Bartlett fragrance.

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Add roasted beets or cooked lentils for a heartier meal

  • Serve alongside roast chicken or baked salmon

  • Pile on toasted sourdough for a quick open-faced lunch
